Brimpton Curriculum Intent

Brimpton C.E Primary delivers an ambitious curriculum which has high expectations of all pupils and seeks to inspire pupils to extend their knowledge and learning during each year group and across the key stages.

The curriculum reflects the abilities and diversity of the community which we serve, promoting resilience to deal with the changing world in which we live.

The curriculum across the school is broad and balanced and promotes curricular opportunities. Our rich curriculum seeks to reflect the values of the school embedded.   Our mission is to enable the children to become curious and independent learners and good communicators resulting in an effective pupil voice.

Responsibility – To ourselves, school, friends and the wider community

Love –Love thy neighbour as ourselves, our environment and recognise the love of others as God gives us in his net of love and safety

Forgiveness – It is ok to make mistakes, forgive ourselves and others

Respect – Ourselves, school, friends, environment and community

Community – Show a responsibility to and for our community in our school and our wider family

As well as our school values British Values are also reflected in the curriculum which retains the flexibility to adapt to changing demands of current issues.

A key principle underpinning the curriculum is that it can be accessed by all and culturally diverse where all children can recognise themselves in the school environment.

The curriculum is developed through passionate subject leaders that plan a curriculum that is coherent and sequenced using whole school topics each full term on a 2 year rolling programme

The curriculum seeks to build pupils cultural capital within the context of the school through a strong emphasis on reading, building vocabulary and offering cultural visits which develop the growth of pupils. There is also a strong emphasis on ensuring our disadvantaged students are supported in gaining full access to all these opportunities.
